The Interview looks at the relationship between journalist and celebrity.
So we’re putting on a panel debate with people that do the interviews – radio and media journalists and current tv actors, about their experiences, good and bad!

Our moderator will facilitate a discussion around the following points:
• Examples of memorable interviews – bad and good!
• What builds trust
• Pressure to ‘get the story’ – The Publisher needs sales, The film / music company needs to get PR
• What do the public want to hear?

Biographies

Wippa

‘Wippa’ is an Australian radio presenter on the Nova 969 breakfast show Fitzy and Wippa with Ryan Fitzgerald.
He got his on-air start on the Em, Wippa and Ollie breakfast show on 92.9 (Perth radio station) in 2005.
In 2009 Wipfli joined Nova FM’s drive show Ryan, Monty and Wippa. Ryan Shelton left at the end of 2010 to focus on television, and Monty moved to Nova Sydney’s Merrick, Dools and Monty breakfast show.
In November 2010 it was announced that Wipfli would be joining Ryan Fitzgerald to host Fitzy and Wippa in 2011. Fitzy and Wippa were nominated for the 2011 Australian Commercial Radio Awards in the best on-air team, Metro FM category.
Wippa has interviewed hundreds of celebrities over the years and look forward to sharing a few of the funnier stories with you

Carolyn Stewart

Carolyn Stewart is a Sydney-based entertainment journalist who is currently a freelance writer for TV WEEK magazine.
She is also a regular contributor to a variety of entertainment publications including Yen and Girl Power.!

Carolyn began her career as a Junior Writer for teen entertainment magazine TV HITS. In her time there she was promoted to Senior Writer and later Features Editor.
Favourite celebrity interviewed while on staff: Kylie Minogue. !

She took up the same role at rival magazine big hit and was later promoted to the role of Deputy Editor. Favourite interviewee: Heath Ledger. !

In 2003, Carolyn became the Deputy Editor of tween entertainment title Barbie and took over the Editor role in 2006. Favourite interviewee: Anne Hathaway. !

Carolyn went freelance for TV WEEK in 2005 where she interviews homegrown and international celebrities on a weekly basis. As well as celebrity profiles and features, she reviews
television shows. Favourite interviewee: Jason Donovan. !

She has also freelanced for such titles as Girl Power, Yen, Woman’s Day, Notebook, Slimming & Health, Juice and Esky. !
Carolyn has interviewed countless celebrities, including Will Smith, Claudia Karvan, Jim Parsons, Zac Efron, Jason Segel, Emily Blunt, Chris Hemsworth, Megan Gale and Shaun Micallef. She has also held court with two incarnations of Doctor Who, just about everybody to ever set foot in Summer
Bay and Grover from Sesame Street. !

Lisa Gormley

Lisa attended Woodbridge District High School from 1997-2000. She then attended Rosny College in Hobart from 2001-2002. She performed as a courtesan in the school’s annual stage production of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” c.2001.
After finishing college, Lisa travelled to the UK where she became a flight attendant for Qantas and she realised in many ways that it was the same as performing. Lisa learned a lot about people as a flight attendant.
When Lisa returned to Australia she was accepted into NIDA, in which she was involved in technical production, teaching, directing and acting. She graduated at the end of 2009.[2] Lisa received the role of Bianca Scott, the sister of April Scott (Rhiannon Fish), in Home and Away in 2010. Lisa secured the role in March 2010.
Lisa has also appeared in the 2010 film Before the Rain
